FAQs
Where are your products made?
Each Naksha Outpost bag is crafted in India. Our custom metal hardware is designed and hand-engraved by master artisans in West Bengal, using centuries-old metallurgical techniques. The leather is sourced from trusted Indian tanneries and handcrafted by skilled leather artisans in our workshop.
What materials do you use?
We use full-grain, high-quality leather and premium brass or bell metal hardware. Each metal component is individually crafted, finished, and plated in silver or gold to enhance longevity and beauty.
Is the metalwork durable? Will it tarnish?
Our metal hardware is designed to last. Each piece is lacquered and plated for protection and to maintain its finish. Over time, a natural patina may develop, adding to the individuality and beauty of the piece — a hallmark of heirloom-quality craftsmanship
Why is the final amount shown in USD during checkout?
To maintain transparent and consistent global pricing, all orders are processed in one unified currency - USD. This ensures compliance with international payment standards and simplifies checkout for customers worldwide. Your payment method will automatically convert the amount to your local currency at the prevailing exchange rate. We accept all major international cards for a smooth and secure transaction experience.
How should I care for my Naksha Outpost bag?
We recommend storing your bag in its dust bag when not in use. Avoid direct exposure to moisture and harsh sunlight. The metal should be gently wiped with a soft cloth to maintain its shine, while leather can be conditioned occasionally with leather-safe products.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we offer worldwide shipping. Delivery timelines and shipping fees vary depending on the destination. More details are available at checkout.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes, we do. If you’re interested in a custom piece, please write to us at info@nakshaoutpost.com with your request — and we’ll get back to you to discuss possibilities.
Are your products sustainable?
At Naksha Outpost, sustainability is embedded in both our materials and our mindset. Our leather is sourced from LWG (Leather Working Group) certified tanneries in Chennai, ensuring responsible and environmentally conscious practices. The metal hardware — a defining feature of our designs — is crafted from recycled brass, reducing the need for virgin material while giving new life to this enduring metal.
We produce in small, intentional batches, not for seasons or trends, but for permanence. Every piece is handcrafted by skilled artisans, ensuring longevity, repairability, and value beyond the moment. This slow, thoughtful approach — often called 'low-flow' or 'flow fashion' — allows us to avoid overproduction and waste, creating objects meant to last, be carried, and be passed down.
By preserving traditional crafts like bell metal engraving and heirloom-quality leatherwork, we also sustain cultural practices that are at risk of fading. Each object we make is not just a product, but part of a story — made carefully, to endure.
Where do you source your leather from?
Our leather is responsibly sourced from LWG (Leather Working Group) certified tanneries in India, ensuring that our materials meet global standards for environmental responsibility and sustainable practices.
